Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga removed from Army reserve for inciting sedition

Cavite Rep. Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga Jr. has been removed from the Philippine Army reserve force effective September 21 for violations equivalent to a grave offense.

The delistment followed an internal review in accordance with AFP Standard Operating Procedure No. 7.

Barzaga was delisted for inciting sedition in a social media post where he was pictured in military uniform, which could endanger the Armed Forces' non-partisan stance.

Consequently, the congressman forfeits all reservist privileges and is permanently prohibited from wearing a military uniform.

He is also ineligible for future commissioning into the AFP, whether in the Regular or Reserve Force.

The Army emphasized its commitment to discipline and accountability, stating that violations of military regulations will not be tolerated, regardless of an individual's status.
