Cavite gov seeks AFP help to enforce ECQ

Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla is seeking military assistance to enforce the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the province due to continued violations by residents.

Remulla announced that security forces from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will assist in the implementation of the "vitamin-enriched" ECQ.

He mentioned that policemen would also enter subdivisions to ensure residents are following the guidelines of the mandatory quarantine.

The governor also stated that security forces would be stricter in asking quarantine passes of residents and enforcing social distancing in public areas.

He warned residents against violating quarantine rules, such as loitering or playing basketball without a quarantine pass.

This decision follows Governor Remulla's frustration that a significant number of Cavite residents are still disregarding quarantine rules, potentially contributing to the spread of COVID-19.
