Carlos Yulo to skip SEA Games for Asian Games prep

Filipino gymnastics star Carlos Yulo will be skipping the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games to focus on his preparation for the Asian Games next year.

Yulo recently won a gold medal in the vault at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.

He mentioned that he needs to rest and recover his body due to overuse from continuous training and preparation for the World Championships.

The Filipino gymnast also plans to compete in the all-around category next year, with the Asian Games being his primary target.

Yulo's decision to withdraw from the SEA Games was influenced by the restrictions imposed by the host country, Thailand, which limits gymnasts to competing in only one apparatus in the final of individual events, effectively canceling the all-around competition.
