Carlos Baylon Jr. of wushu was named the Philippine Sportswriters Association's (PSA) top performer for April.

Sy Tancontian also secured a gold medal in the women's +80kg division at the Asia and Oceania Sambo Championships in Uzbekistan, defeating Mongolia's Ser-Ochir Buyanzaya.
