Caluya gets first batch of ACMs for midyear polls

Caluya in Antique received the first batch of 40 automated counting machines (ACMs) and 34 batteries on April 27, making it the first of 17 local government units in the province to get election equipment.

The island municipality of Caluya was prioritized due to its remote location.

A total of 730 ACMs are allocated for clustered precincts across Antique, with the remaining 16 municipalities scheduled to receive their machines.

All ACMs will undergo final testing and sealing on May 7, ahead of the May 12 midyear polls.

Around 300 police personnel from PRO6 will be deployed to augment security in Antique's 730 voting centers.

Members of the Philippine Army will be assigned in remote areas, and the Philippine Coast Guard will secure island barangays.
