Caloocan cop killed in shootout after alleged store robbery

Police Captain Ronnie Sarto, 43, assigned to the Caloocan City Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Section, was killed in a shootout with fellow officers after allegedly robbing a convenience store in Marilao, Bulacan.

CCTV footage showed Sarto entering the store, and authorities claim he declared a hold-up and stole P20,000 before fleeing on a motorcycle.

The PNP stated that Sarto was also involved in other robbery incidents in Meycauayan and San Jose del Monte cities in Bulacan.

Bulacan police chief Col. Angel Garcillano confirmed that investigators are morally convinced Sarto was behind the robberies, citing solid evidence.

Garcillano assured that the police force has zero tolerance for wrongdoing, even among their own ranks.
