CALAX completion to lower food prices

The completion of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is anticipated to lower food prices by enhancing transportation efficiency, according to Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recently inspected the ongoing construction of CALAX Subsection 3, the Governor's Drive Interchange in Cavite province.

This interchange is currently 44 percent complete and is projected to be operational by the third quarter of 2025.

Castro explained that reduced travel times will lead to decreased fuel consumption, benefiting travelers and those transporting goods, ultimately lowering commodity prices.

The 8.64-kilometer segment will connect the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to Governor's Drive in General Trias, Cavite.

Once finished, this new segment will improve connectivity, facilitate faster travel to General Trias and surrounding areas, and alleviate traffic along Governor's Drive and Aguinaldo Highway.
