Caap airports on heightened alert due to Tropical Depression Crising

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) has elevated all 44 of its airports to "heightened alert" status due to the approaching Tropical Depression Crising.

Airport managers in potentially affected areas have been ordered to activate their Airport Emergency Plans and coordinate with local disaster councils, airlines, and other stakeholders.

This precautionary measure aligns with directives from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon to prioritize public safety during bad weather.

Six flights were canceled in airports in Masbate City, Naga City, and Virac Airport due to bad weather conditions.

A total of 516 passengers were affected by the suspension of flights involving Masbate to Clark, Naga City to Manila, and Virac to Manila routes.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) also suspended sea travel in Sorsogon province, initially for vessels with three gross tonnes or less, with larger vessels alerted for possible big waves.
