CAAP extends flight restrictions over 4 PH volcanoes until Jan 8

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has extended Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) for flights around Kanlaon, Bulusan, Taal, and Mayon Volcanoes until January 8.

These updated NOTAMs advise pilots to avoid flying near the summits of these volcanoes due to ongoing volcanic unrest.

Restrictions for Kanlaon Volcano are from the surface up to 11,000 feet, effective from January 7, 8:27 a.m. to January 8, 9 a.m.

Bulusan Volcano has restrictions from the surface up to 10,000 feet, effective from January 7, 8:31 a.m. to January 8, 9 a.m.

Taal Volcano also has restrictions from the surface up to 11,000 feet, effective from January 7, 8:29 a.m. to January 8, 9 a.m.

Mayon Volcano has restrictions from the surface up to 11,000 feet, effective from January 7, 8:32 a.m. to January 8, 9 a.m.

CAAP strongly advises flight operators to monitor NOTAMs and official advisories for updates.

Mayon Volcano remains under Alert Level 3 as of Wednesday morning, indicating intensified or magmatic unrest.
