CAAP OKs P205 M for Bacolod-Silay Airport upgrade
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has approved PHP205 million for the Bacolod-Silay Airport Development Project.
The allocated funds include P200 million for the improvement or expansion of the passenger terminal building and P5 million for widening the access road for the Fire Station Building.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez thanked CAAP for the budget approval, which he requested on February 25.
The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) has also committed to fund the asphalt overlay of the airport's existing runway to ensure safe aircraft operations.
The upgrade aims to increase the check-in and pre-departure areas to accommodate growing passenger demand and ensure safer flight operations.
