CA nullifies TPO favoring Quiboloy's KJC

The Court of Appeals (CA) 22nd Division in Cagayan de Oro nullified a temporary protection order (TPO) issued by the Davao Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 15 in favor of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC).

The TPO, issued on August 27 by Judge Mario Duaves, ordered the police to remove barricades to the KJC compound and cease acts that would harm persons or properties.

However, the CA ruled that the Davao court had no authority to issue the TPO as the case against Quiboloy was moved to a Quezon City court in May, as ordered by the Supreme Court.

This ruling ensures that the Quezon City RTC handles cases against Quiboloy, who is being sought by the PNP for rape and human trafficking charges.

The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO-11) welcomed the CA ruling, stating it vindicates their operation to arrest Quiboloy and confirms their actions are just and lawful.
