Business groups back Marcos Jr.'s anti-corruption stance

Business and non-government organizations lauded President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s frank admission of government shortcomings during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Victor Lim, president of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), praised the President's clear condemnation of excessive political corruption, particularly "ghost projects."

Lim highlighted that corruption significantly contributes to poverty, social inequities, and economic damage in the Philippines.

He also noted that corruption leads to massive wastages, budget deficits, and unsustainable borrowing, diverting funds from national development.

The FFCCCII leader expressed strong support for the President's commitment to improving social services and education.

FFCCCII offers its vigorous support for the President's commitment to combat corruption and calls for rigorous, systemic, periodic, and transparent audits and performance reviews across all government agencies and projects.
