Bus, truck collision in Albay kills 3 drivers

A head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Polangui, Albay, resulted in the deaths of both drivers and one bus passenger.

The incident occurred on Maharlika Highway in Barangay Balangibang when the truck, while overtaking, veered into the opposing lane and collided with the bus bound for Metro Manila.

The bus was registered to Felixberta B. Bobis and authorized under Case No. 2007-0719.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has launched an investigation into the crash.

LTFRB vowed to hold accountable any parties found violating road safety rules or franchise conditions, stating passenger safety is their priority.

The bus driver is covered by personal passenger accident insurance amounting to P400,000, while the truck's family will be indemnified by its third liability insurance coverage.
