Bulacan gov endorses Robredo, says misquoted by Marcos camp

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando officially endorsed the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo, clarifying he was misquoted by the camp of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Fernando stated that the Marcos camp claimed he was undecided, but he formally announced his full support for Robredo, emphasizing "Let a woman lead."

He expressed belief that Robredo is the most qualified candidate due to her simplicity, compassion for the needy, and her commitment to the marginalized and voiceless.

Fernando cited Robredo's "Angat Buhay" program, which collected PHP505.39 million in donations benefiting 2,388 communities and hospitals nationwide.

The endorsement is seen to boost Robredo's chances in the May 2022 elections as Bulacan is the fifth most vote-rich province with over two million voters.

Fernando also quoted Robredo's campaign slogan, "Kulay Rosas Ang Bukas," referencing her strong faith and commitment to a prosperous future.
