BuCor permanently bans Kapatid spox Fides Lim from visiting prison camps

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has permanently banned Fides Lim, spokesperson for the advocacy group Kapatid, from entering or visiting persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in all its prison camps.

This prohibition, which began on April 29, was based on a thorough investigation and multiple corroborated testimonies detailing repeated instances of defiance, arrogance, and disruptive conduct towards corrections officers.

According to BuCor director general Gregorio Catapang Jr., Lim demonstrated a pattern of disregard for established security measures, impatience with procedural verification, and confrontational conduct toward persons in authority.

Cited incidents include her alleged arrogance towards authority on February 25, 2024, refusing to observe queuing procedures, meddling with other visitors, and disregarding parking rules.

She was also cited for refusing to follow protocols on bringing in medicines.

Lim's alleged infractions also included facilitating an unscheduled interview with an inmate, which was not part of her approved request for food donation and distribution.
