BTr fully awards PHP25B T-bills on strong demand

The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) successfully awarded all PHP25 billion in Treasury bills (T-bills) on Monday, with total tenders reaching PHP80.265 billion, over three times the amount offered.

The average yield for the 91-day T-bills was 5.546%, remaining steady from the previous auction.

The average yield for the 182-day T-bills increased by 2 basis points to 5.655% from 5.675% last week.

The average yield for the 364-day T-bills slightly decreased by 0.3 basis points to 5.688% from 5.691% previously.

Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation chief economist Michael Ricafort attributed the mostly steady yields to dovish signals from local monetary officials and a decline in US Treasury yields.
