Eight players commit to Gilas Pilipinas for SEA Games

Eight players have committed to the Gilas Pilipinas team set to compete in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.

The initial pool includes Justin Brownlee, Ange Kouame, Ray Parks, Remy Martin, Matthew Wright, Dave Ildefonso, Jason Brickman, and Veejay Pre.

Head coach Norman Black is supervising the national team for the regional meet as they prepare to defend their title.

Black is looking to fill the remaining four slots with big men from the UAAP.

He has spoken to these players, and they have indicated willingness to play, pending approval from their mother schools and the UAAP.

Official head coach Tim Cone begged off from coaching in the SEA Games due to his commitment with Barangay Ginebra in the Philippine Cup.

Cone will still coach the Philippines in the opening window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers in November.

Brownlee, Kouame, Martin, and Brickman are considered naturalized players under FIBA rules but can play in the SEA Games as event organizers only require a passport of the country the athlete represents.
