BOPK endorses Sotto for VP in Cebu rally

The Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK), an influential political party in Cebu, has endorsed Senate President Vicente Sotto III for vice president.

This endorsement was made during a proclamation rally at the Cebu City Sports Center on April 2, 2022, which was attended by an estimated 15,000 supporters.

Sotto described the endorsement as "very valuable" for his campaign in the Visayas.

BOPK, led by former Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña, cited Sotto's past support for the city, including a P5 million donation for cancer patients.

Margot Osmeña urged Cebuanos to vote for Sotto to reciprocate his kindness.

Sotto expressed that the "Cebuano brand of public service" should be emulated nationwide.

He also shared personal connections to Cebu, mentioning his grandparents and relatives residing there.

Sotto's running mate, Senator Panfilo Lacson, was not present at the event, but Sotto affirmed their tandem remains intact amidst discussions of a potential Pacquiao-Sotto pairing.
