Bongbong Marcos visits father's grave after landslide victory

Presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. visited the grave of his late father, Ferdinand Marcos Sr., at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

He appeared emotional during his visit, offering flowers and spending time at his father's grave marker, which featured a bust of the former president.

Marcos Jr. expressed gratitude to the Filipino people for his landslide victory and to his father, whom he cited as his inspiration and teacher of true leadership.

His father's burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani was allowed by the Duterte administration, a decision Marcos Jr. has defended, citing his father's service as president and soldier.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Marcos Jr. leads the presidential race with over 31 million votes, widening his lead to more than 16 million votes against Vice President Leni Robredo.

This victory marks the return to power of the Marcos family after their 20-year rule and his father's ousting in 1986.
