The Bureau of Customs (BOC) now has custody of 28 luxury vehicles linked to contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya.
The Discaya family surrendered 16 additional vehicles, adding to the 12 previously seized through a court-ordered search of their warehouse.
The vehicles are undergoing processing for sealing and documentation, with the BOC verifying importation records and assessing duties and taxes.
BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno stated that the vehicles will be returned if legitimate purchases are proven with authentic documents and all tax liabilities are settled.
The Discaya family is under scrutiny for securing P31 billion in flood control projects from 2022 to 2025.
The specific luxury vehicles include a Mercedez Benz GLE, Land Rover Range Rover LWB, Land Rover Defender, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Ford Bronco, Mercedez Benz GLS 350, BMW X5 30D, Jaguar F-Pace 2.0D, Porsche Cayenne V6, Volvo XC90, Mercedez Benz Avant, LAND Rover Range Rover Evo-F, Mercedez Benz Sprinter, ATV Quicksand, Yukon Denali, and ATV Gray.
The BOC, with the help of the Land Transportation Office, vowed to continue its thorough investigation into the vehicles owned by the Discayas.
