BoC seizes P40.5M in vape products from China

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) confiscated vape products valued at P40.5 million from China at the Manila International Container Port (MICP).

The shipments were falsely declared as kitchen items and paraffin wax.

Hold Orders for the shipments were issued in January 2025, following derogatory information.

A physical examination on July 14, 2025, led to the discovery of 81,000 assorted vape products and other misdeclared items.

Warrants of Seizure and Detention were issued on July 23, 2025.

The seized items are undergoing forfeiture proceedings for violating the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act, and relevant Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) regulations.

The BoC is building a case to identify and prosecute those responsible.
