BOC confiscates P2.6M smuggled fuel in Bicol

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) confiscated over 39,000 liters of smuggled fuel valued at P2.6 million from three gasoline stations in the Bicol region.

Testing confirmed that the fuel's marker was below the required compliance threshold, indicating tax and duty evasion.

District Collector Guillermo Pedro Francia IV noted the persistent challenges in enforcing fuel regulations and the continued defiance of compliance measures by some operators.

Warrants of seizure were issued against the seized fuel products.

This operation is linked to alleged violations of Joint Circular No. 001-2021, which pertains to the National Internal Revenue Code as amended by the Train Law.
