PRO-5 arrests 120 suspects, seizes P17.2M drugs in January

The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) reported the arrest of 120 suspects and the confiscation of PHP17.2 million worth of illegal drugs during operations conducted in January.

A total of 119 operations across the region resulted in the seizure of 2.53 kilograms of shabu and 52.60 grams of marijuana.

Among those arrested, 20 were classified as high-value targets while 100 were identified as street-level drug personalities.

Albay recorded the highest value of seized drugs at PHP6.15 million, followed by Naga City, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Masbate, Sorsogon, and Catanduanes.

PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon reaffirmed the PRO-5's commitment to sustaining the momentum of its anti-drug campaign and safeguarding the public.

The unit has strengthened its information campaigns to educate the public about the dangers and consequences of illegal drug use, utilizing social media platforms to enhance awareness efforts.
