Bianca Gonzalez questions disparity in punishment for small thieves vs corrupt officials

TV host Bianca Gonzalez questioned the disparity in punishments for small-time thieves versus corrupt officials accused of stealing billions.

She posted on X, "Kung ang nagnakaw ng de latang walang isang daang piso para sa gutom na pamilya ay nahuli at nakulong, anong parusa ang naghihintay at maaasahan nating mga mamamayan sa mga opisyal na bilyones ang kinurakot sa kaban ng bayan?"

Her remarks were made in the context of ongoing Senate hearings into alleged corrupt practices related to multi-million flood control projects.

Gonzalez had previously called out the children of corrupt officials flaunting extravagant lifestyles online while many Filipinos struggle.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had also questioned why a few contractors cornered a significant portion of flood projects since 2022, noting issues with project details and costs.
