The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is set to deport a Chinese businessman, Cao Cheng, who is allegedly the importer of luxury cars previously owned by the Discaya couple.
Cao, 41, was arrested on November 27 in Makati City by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG).
He faces multiple charges including obstruction, illegal use of alias, and misrepresentation.
Cao allegedly used the alias "Martin Zhao" and fraudulently obtained documents under this false identity, which BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated is a ground for undesirability.
Viado emphasized that foreign nationals using fictitious identities in Philippine transactions are unacceptable.
Cao is currently detained at the PNP-HPG's Special Operations Division in Camp Crame, Quezon City, but will be transferred to a BI facility for further processing.
If convicted, Cao faces deportation and will be blacklisted from re-entering the Philippines.
