BI arrests 3 Chinese nationals linked to illegal online ops

Immigration agents arrested three Chinese nationals on Valentine's Day in Calamba, Laguna, based on a report from the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) linking them to illegal online gambling and prostitution.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) conducted the operation in coordination with the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).

Investigations revealed that two of the arrested individuals were in the Philippines on tourist visas, while the third held a working visa for a Makati-based company.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated that the BI is dedicated to enhancing border security and apprehending foreign nationals who overstay or misuse their visas.

The three suspects are currently detained at the PAOCC facility in Pasay City pending their deportation proceedings.
