BI intercepts two foreign nationals at NAIA

The Bureau of Immigration has intercepted two foreign nationals at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in separate incidents.

A Cameroonian national, identified as Murielle Sandra Mbozo'o Epse Ze, was intercepted on July 3 at NAIA Terminal 3 before boarding a flight to Milan, Italy, due to concerns about her passport's authenticity, which was later confirmed to be counterfeit.

The BI noted that interceptions involving African nationals are uncommon and usually linked to fraud.

In a separate case on June 28, a Chinese national named Luo Wenchao was apprehended at NAIA Terminal 1 while attempting to depart for Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Luo is wanted by Chinese authorities based on an Interpol red notice issued in 2024 for violating credit card management laws.

He and his accomplices reportedly acquired over 18,000 bank cards for use in online gambling and communication scams.
