BI eases departure rules for foreigners with approved visas

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has eased its departure rules for foreigners who have approved visas but have not yet received their Alien Certificate of Registration Identify Card (ACR I-Card).

This new policy aims to reduce person-to-person contact amidst the implementation of enhanced community quarantine measures.

Previously, departing foreigners in this situation were required to obtain a waiver from the BI's main office.

Under the new guidelines, departing aliens can present their passports with valid visas, official receipts for their ACR I-Card waiver application fee, and either an Emigration Clearance Certificate (ECC) with Returning Permit (RP) or a Special Resident Certificate (SRC), whichever applies.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente advised departing foreigners to retain these documents for inspection upon their return to the Philippines.
