BI arrests Italian, Indian nationals for overstaying

Two foreign nationals, an Italian and an Indian, were apprehended by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in separate operations in Iloilo and Laguna for overstaying and undocumented stay in the Philippines.

The Italian national, Antonino Consoli, was arrested in Iloilo on September 30 for allegedly physically abusing a Filipina and operating a business without permits, with his visa having expired in August 2024 and his passport on September 21, 2025.

Consoli had arrived in the Philippines in January 2023 as a temporary visitor and was granted a probationary immigrant visa.

The Indian national, Abhishek Kumar, was arrested in Laguna on October 1 for overstaying and for failing to present a valid passport, which he claimed was with his cousin in India.

Both individuals have been transferred to the BI Warden Facility in Manila for documentation and pending deportation proceedings.
