BI arrests Chinese national for alleged crypto scam in Parañaque

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has apprehended a Chinese national in Parañaque City for allegedly running a cryptocurrency investment scam.

The arrest occurred in a condominium unit along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, where the suspect was found managing a computer workstation.

Authorities linked the location to a larger online fraud operation involving other Chinese nationals.

The arrested individual was also found to have overstayed his visa since October 2024 and was working without a permit.

During the operation, suspected drug paraphernalia was also recovered from the scene.

Deportation proceedings will be initiated against the Chinese national, who will be barred from re-entering the Philippines.
