BI arrests 3 Chinese nationals in Davao for illegal stay

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested three Chinese nationals in Davao City for illegally staying and working in the Philippines.

The suspects, identified as Xu Yonglian, 38; Lin Jinxing, 42, and Cai Xiji, 44, were arrested on September 5.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado stated that "fake Filipinos do not have a place in the Philippines," aligning with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s directive against illegal aliens.

Xu allegedly used a Filipino name for his business dealings in Davao City despite having a working visa for a company in Binondo, Manila.

Lin was reportedly caught working despite having only a tourist visa, while Cai had a working visa for a Binondo company but was apprehended working in Davao.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Army, Air Force, and the Philippine National Police.
