Cristy Fermin, Rommel Villamor, Wendell Alvarez face arrest warrants over Bea Alonzo cyber libel case

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 93 issued arrest warrants against Cristy Fermin, Rommel Villamor, and Wendell Alvarez over a cyber libel case filed by Bea Alonzo.

Fermin and Alvarez have posted bail, while Villamor was still processing his at the time of reporting.

Alonzo filed the cyber libel complaint in May 2024, alleging false and malicious statements were published on Fermin's online show regarding her broken engagement, alleged tax issues, and a labor case.

Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, legal counsel for Fermin and her co-accused, confirmed they are preparing for the defense.

Alonzo's lawyer, Atty. Joey Garcia, stated the development vindicates his client's position and affirms her right to seek redress, emphasizing that free speech does not grant freedom to defame.
