BDO, Manulife offer aid for Taal eruption victims

BDO Unibank Inc. and Manulife Philippines have announced measures to assist Filipinos affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

BDO is waiving remittance fees for cash donations sent through its BDO Remit offices to partner foundations until March 31, 2020, to facilitate aid from overseas Filipinos.

These partner foundations include BDO Foundation, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, and Philippine Red Cross.

Genie Gloria, head of remittance at BDO, stated that the bank aims to ensure that all donated funds reach the intended relief efforts without deductions.

Manulife Philippines is extending payment terms for its policyholders who are in areas impacted by the eruption, showing solidarity with those affected.
