Bato says Marcos Jr. remarks uncalled for

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa stated that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s remarks against opponents of the administration slate were uncalled for and unexpected from a Chief Executive.

Dela Rosa was reacting to Marcos' statements made during the proclamation rally of the administration ticket, Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, which appeared to target candidates from the Duterte-backed PDP Laban.

The senator acknowledged that political bashing is expected during the political season but found the President's comments surprising.

President Marcos had previously stated that none of the Alyansa candidates were involved in killings during the war on drugs, corruption during the pandemic, or subservience to China, and also referred to a "false prophet" who abused women and children.

Some former Duterte administration officials, including Dela Rosa, are currently under investigation by the International Criminal Court for alleged killings related to the former president's war on drugs.
