Bato Dela Rosa ignores ICC summons, claims no jurisdiction

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa confirmed that his office received communications from the International Criminal Court (ICC) but stated that he is ignoring them due to a perceived lack of jurisdiction.

Dela Rosa is one of five individuals being investigated by the ICC Office of the Prosecutor concerning killings that occurred during the Duterte administration.

Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra previously stated that the Philippine government refused to arrange interviews between the ICC Prosecutor and persons of interest.

Guevarra also mentioned that the ICC Prosecutor, Karim Khan, was informed he could proceed with interviews directly with the individuals involved.

Dela Rosa made these remarks after filing his certificate of candidacy for a Senate seat.
