Sen. Dela Rosa cries over failed bid to keep Zubiri as Senate president

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa admitted to supporting Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero’s leadership, a decision that led him to cry during the change of Senate leadership.

He explained that he cried because he failed to secure the support of PDP-Laban senators for the former Senate President, Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri, stating, "Sorry boss, I failed to win the war for you."

Dela Rosa revealed that 15 senators backed Escudero's leadership, and he signed the resolution supporting it after being approached by Escudero and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

He was the last to sign the resolution, doing so after Escudero had already secured 14 signatures, making his support "insignificant."

He and party-mates Senator Francis Tolentino and Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go had an understanding to always join the majority in voting situations.
