Bataan records highest single-day Covid-19 surge with 65 new cases

Bataan logged 65 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of infections in the province to 904.

This is the highest single-day increase in cases for Bataan since the start of the pandemic.

Forty-five of the new cases were due to close contact with previously confirmed Covid-19 patients.

Mariveles reported 18 new cases, while Balanga City had 14, and Hermosa and Orani had two and five, respectively.

Among the new infections were a one-year-old boy from Limay, an eight-month-old girl and a six-year-old boy from Balanga City.

The number of recoveries in Bataan increased to 541 with 12 new patients recovering from the virus.

Two senior citizens, aged 65 and 67, were among the new recoveries.
