Baste Duterte files disbarment complaint against Remulla, Teodoro, Fadullon, Ty

Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte has filed a disbarment complaint against Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, Prosecutor General Anthony Fadullon, and DOJ Undersecretary Nicholas Ty.

The complaint, filed at the Supreme Court by Duterte's lawyer, Israelito Torreon, alleges violations of the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA).

Torreon cited the officials' participation in the handover of former President Rodrigo Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) as the reason for the complaint.

Former President Duterte is facing charges of crimes against humanity related to his administration's war on drugs.

Justice Secretary Remulla acknowledged the filing, stating it was unsurprising, while Prosecutor General Fadullon mentioned he had yet to receive the complaint.

Duterte had previously filed kidnapping, arbitrary detention, and rights violation cases against the four officials before the Office of the Ombudsman.

However, Justice Secretary Remulla has reportedly been cleared by the Office of the Ombudsman of any pending cases submitted to the Judicial and Bar Council.
