Baste Duterte assumes Davao City vice mayor post

Sebastian "Baste" Duterte officially assumed office as the Vice Mayor of Davao City through a solemn oath-taking ceremony on June 27.

He was joined by his family, including his mother Elizabeth Zimmerman Duterte and sister Vice President Sara Duterte, during the event.

Associate Justice Jill Rose Jaugan-Lo administered Duterte's oath of office at the Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) Session Hall.

In his inaugural speech, Duterte emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, peace, and security, attributing his victory to the trust of the Dabawenyos over the administration's machinery.

He urged his fellow public servants to remain mindful of the people's will and to proactively address community concerns.

Duterte also called for continued cooperation from the Dabawenyos to foster a productive future for the city.
