BARMM to finish 100-bed COVID-19 center in 3 weeks

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is aiming to complete its 100-bed capacity COVID-19 Patient Care Center (PCC) within the next three weeks.

Construction of the PCC, located near the Cotabato Sanitarium Hospital in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, began earlier this month.

The BARMM Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) is also considering the use of rapid testing kits, aligning with national government guidelines, though PCR testing will remain the standard.

The region's Ministry of Health plans to request some of the rapid test kits allocated by the national government.

As of Tuesday, BARMM has recorded nine confirmed COVID-19 cases, with one new case identified in Marawi City.

The region currently has no probable cases but has 235 suspected COVID-19 cases.
