BARMM Covid-19 cases reach 593

The Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has recorded six new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total confirmed cases in the region to 593.

Of the new cases, three are from Lanao del Sur and three are from Basilan.

The region currently has 130 active Covid-19 cases, with 449 patients having recovered, resulting in a recovery rate of 76 percent.

There have been a total of 14 deaths due to Covid-19 in BARMM, with the majority originating from Marawi City and Lanao del Sur.

Lanao del Sur has the highest number of confirmed cases at 250, followed by Basilan with 108.

Health officials are closely monitoring 34 police officers who were infected by a tailor making their uniforms.

In the Soccsksargen region, five healthcare workers at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) and three of their family members have also tested positive.

Soccsksargen has a total of 396 Covid-19 cases with 98 active patients and four deaths.
