Baguio maintains strict border control amid MGCQ

Baguio City continues to implement strict cross-border checkpoints and online registration at hdf.baguio.gov.ph for individuals entering the city, even under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

A medical certificate confirming a COVID-19-free status is required if a travel authority from the PNP is not available or in the absence of other travel documents.

Checkpoints are established at key entry points, including Kennon View Deck, Marcos Highway, Naguilian Road, Magsaysay Road, and TipTop Ambuklao.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong emphasized that these rules apply to everyone, including VIPs and PNP members, to maintain fairness and protect residents.

The city government has boosted its triage and testing schemes, including mandatory chest X-rays for all returning Baguio residents (RBRs) and returning overseas Filipino workers as a precaution against the disease.

The chest X-ray, costing PHP180 for the film, will be a requirement to ensure no one with potential infection bypasses the triage system.
