Baguio city government adopts blockchain for secure record-keeping

The city government of Baguio has initiated the uploading of important documents onto a blockchain system, aiming to enhance transparency and safeguard official records.

This initiative, developed in collaboration with BayaniChain Tech Inc. (BYC), is designed to make government records more secure and resistant to tampering.

Key documents being uploaded include financial records, bidding information, and infrastructure reports, which will be more easily accessible and accurate.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong stated that the blockchain technology will render government records tamper-proof and accessible to the public, thereby reducing corruption and fostering trust.

The adoption of this technology is a component of Baguio's dedication to the Open Government Partnership, which advocates for transparent and accountable governance.
