Atienza apologizes to Lacson for withdrawal suggestion

Vice presidential candidate Lito Atienza has publicly apologized to presidential candidate Senator Panfilo Lacson for suggesting that Lacson withdraw from the presidential race, which Lacson initially found insulting.

Lacson acknowledged Atienza's apology, stating "In all humility, apology accepted."

Atienza explained his suggestion was a response to a perceived national crisis if Ferdinand Marcos Jr. were to win the presidency, not an insult.

Atienza had previously considered withdrawing from the vice presidential race himself if Lacson abandoned his presidential bid.
