Ateneo maintains top PH university spot in 2025 THE rankings

Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) has again been recognized as the top university in the Philippines for the third consecutive year in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, maintaining its position within the 1001-1200 global bracket.

The number of Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) ranked in the 2025 THE World University Rankings has increased to six, with Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) entering the rankings for the first time.

The University of the Philippines (UP) secured the second spot among Philippine universities, remaining in the 1201-1500 global bracket.

DLSU, Mapúa University, MSU-IIT, and UST are all placed in the 1501+ global bracket.

MSU-IIT achieved its ranking after two years of being under "Reporter" status, a designation for institutions that submitted data but were ineligible for the world rankings.

CHED Secretary Popoy De Vera highlighted the continuing annual increase in Philippine HEIs undergoing international assessment as 'indeed outstanding.'
