Ateneo defeats La Salle in rivalry game, Amos struggles against former team

Mason Amos of La Salle is preparing to face his former team, Ateneo, in their upcoming UAAP men's basketball rivalry game.

Amos, who transferred from Ateneo to La Salle last year, anticipates facing jeers from Ateneo fans during his first rivalry game as a Green Archer.

Despite the booing, Amos stated his intention to "block out the noise" and approach the game like any other.

His departure from Ateneo in July 2024 was considered controversial, especially after his participation in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament with Gilas Pilipinas, followed by his immediate transfer to La Salle.

In the highly anticipated Sunday game, Ateneo led by as much as 33 points before La Salle's rally fell short, resulting in an 81-74 victory for Ateneo.

Amos struggled in the game, scoring only six points in 25 minutes and 47 seconds of play.

He acknowledged having a bad game but stated it had nothing to do with the hecklers from the crowd.
