Ateneo captain Doromal proud of team's progress in final season

Ateneo Blue Eagles team captain Roma Mae Doromal concluded her collegiate career with no regrets, feeling proud of her teammates' progress and the lessons learned during her final UAAP Season 86.

Doromal expressed satisfaction with her decision to extend her playing eligibility for another year, witnessing significant improvement within the young team under Brazilian coach Sergio Veloso.

Despite Ateneo missing the Final Four for the second consecutive season, they finished fifth with a 5-9 record, showing development throughout their campaign.

In her final game, a dominant win against the Adamson Lady Falcons, Doromal contributed nine digs and six excellent receptions, marking the end of her four-season tenure with the Blue Eagles.

Doromal hopes her commitment and support will be her legacy to the team, helping them grow in the new system.

She fulfilled a lifelong dream of playing for the Blue Eagles, graduated with a Communication degree in July 2023, and is now planning to turn pro in the Premier Volleyball League.

Her collegiate career resumed in Season 84 after her rookie year in Season 82 was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
