Army recommends delisting of Cavite Rep. Barzaga from reserve force

The Philippine Army has recommended the delisting of Cavite Representative Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga from its reserve force.

Barzaga, a private in the National Capital Region Regional Defense Group Reserve Command, enlisted in January.

The recommendation stems from social media posts insinuating AFP and PNP participation in protests and expressing a loss of trust in the President.

Army spokesperson Colonel Louie Dema-ala stated these actions constitute a grave offense of misconduct and violate military professionalism and non-partisanship.

Dema-ala emphasized that using the AFP's name to incite hatred against the government or join politically motivated protests is unlawful.

Barzaga allegedly made seditious statements online while wearing AFP attire in public posts.

This recommendation is specific to his reservist status and does not affect his rights as a civilian or elected official.
