Army recommends Kiko Barzaga delisting from reserve force

The Philippine Army has recommended the delisting of Cavite Representative Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga from its reserve force due to his social media call for military personnel and reservists to join a protest.

An internal investigation concluded that Barzaga's remarks constituted a grave offense of misconduct.

Barzaga's statements insinuated that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) would participate in the September 21 protests and expressed a loss of trust in the President.

The recommendation to delist Barzaga is specific to his reservist status and does not affect his rights as a civilian or elected official.

This action was taken in accordance with the Philippine Army's General Headquarters Standard Operating Procedure No. 07, which outlines the rules for reserve force members.
