Archdiocese of Palo seeks help locating missing priest Fr. Edwin Caintoy

The Archdiocese of Palo in Leyte is seeking public assistance to locate Rev. Fr. Edwin "Kutz" A. Caintoy, 55, who has been missing since Tuesday, December 23.

Father Caintoy, parish priest of San Jose de Malibago Parish and a resident of Abuyog, Leyte, was last seen around 9:08 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, traveling on a RUSI motorcycle driven by his sacristan, Janriel Pelapel.

He later boarded a NORBATCO passenger bus with plate number GAW 7651, bound for Tacloban City, and reportedly disembarked at the corner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church along Quezon Boulevard.

Caintoy was captured on CCTV walking toward Robinsons North Tacloban around 9:52 a.m., but his whereabouts remain unknown.

Reverend Father Gwen Lovelino Padagdag, chancellor of the Archdiocese of Palo, stated that they are coordinating with authorities in the search for Caintoy.

The Archdiocese is calling on the faithful to offer prayers for Father Caintoy during this time of concern.
