Archdiocese of Manila designates mission song for Masses

The Archdiocese of Manila has designated "We Give Our Yes," the Official Mission Song for the 500 Years of Christianity celebration, as the recessional song for all Masses in the archdiocese until 2022.

This directive, issued by Father Kali M. Llamado, Minister of Music for the Archdiocese, encourages choirs to learn the song and feature it starting February 7, 2021, to mark the opening of the 500 Years celebrations.

Parish leaders are urged to collaborate with Youth Ministry, Catechetical Ministry, and Campus Ministry to help the faithful learn the song and its accompanying actions.

The song was composed by Father Carlo Magno Marcelo, a priest from the Archdiocese of Manila, and its official lyric and action video is available online.

Father Marcelo stated that "We Give Our Yes" looks forward to the 500th year of Christianity in the Philippines, emphasizing the mission to fulfill Jesus's mission.

The song is performed by Jamie Rivera, known for singing various Church theme songs.

The official release of "We Give Our Yes" is available on all digital platforms as of January 29, 2021.
